4/15/2010 - A word from our league
Parents and Players,

MMYSL has asked me to pass the following information on to the parent and fans of the teams within the Mid- Michigan League. "Please be aware that the league will be monitoring aprnt, player and coach behavior during the upcoming season as there was a small escalation in incident reports from the Fall. Most of these reports involved parents making inappropriate remarks toward opposing teams. Please remind your parents of the Code of Conduct (our is found on the Vardar wesite) that MMYSL adheres to with respect to these issues.

This was asked of all teams within the Mid-Michigan League and in no way was directed at just one team. If you have questions, comment, or concerns regarding this information please give me a call or send an email. Please also remember that there will NOT be a game at the Gennesse Fieldhouse this weekend!

I look forward to a successful Spring season. GO VARDAR!!!

NUTRITION FOR YOUNG SOCCER ATHLETES

Nutrition is a fundamental link in the creation and development of the young

Performance nutrition has to be a continuous cycle. Start now, to benefit later
in your soccer career. Thing future, thing better athletes. Make the nutrition a

SPECIFIC NUTRITION FOR YOUTH SOCCER PLAYERS

A healthy nutrition program for soccer players is base on Carbohydrates,
Protein, Fats and Vitamins. Because soccer is a sport with explosive movements
that require multiple switch of direction , short sprints, acceleration,
deceleration, Carbohydrates are the main nutritional product used to fuel the
muscle and brain necessary for this intense specific soccer activities.

The intensity of the soccer training require plenty of carbohydrates, necessary
to produce energy source needed by the muscle before the training/game, during
and after. IF THE BODY DOESN'T GET ENOUGH CARBOHYDRATES THE PERFORMANCE WILL
SUFFER.

A typical daily diet for youth soccer players should contain about 40-50 %
energy from carbohydrates. 350-400 carbohydrates per day.

The main focus is the quality of the carbohydrates. Stay away from products that
contain bad carbs as: Candies, Chocolate bars, Sodas, Cereal, that have more
than 10 grams of sugar. The product that contain a long list of ingredients,

Just as the carbohydrates there are good and bad fats.

Bad Fats [Saturated Fat]

Candies
Cookies

Good Fats [Unsaturated Fats]
